『ミーターの大冒険と瓢箪』

　『ミーターの大冒険』の数あるテーマの中でも「浄化」や「解毒」は大事なものです。 それを哲学思想に置き換えて見ると「中庸」という概念でも捉えられます。 この「中庸」という思想は、ご存じのように古代思想においてかなり肝心要であったことは定説です。 お釈迦も孔子もアルキメデスも同じ内容を伝えれおります。
　ところで、その中庸というのは、仏陀の思想の中で例えて見ますと、「中」や「空」と言っております。
　それを敢えてある植物に当てはめて限定して見ますと、瓢箪（ひょうたん）が思い浮かびます。 内部が後で空洞化でき、二段の膨らみと中間位置のくびれが特徴で東洋及び日本では縁起がいいものと珍重されて来ました。

「精神」が宿るもの
瓢箪は古くから「霊」を含んでいると言われている植物です。 悪を吸い込んで浄化する効果があると考えられていました。

瓢箪は楕円の中央に括れ形をしています。 悪が入ると、くびれた部分にとどまり、見逃せないと言われています。 浄化作用には神聖な精神が含まれていると考えられており、神聖な植物と見なされています。
